Neighborhoods
Just as in other cities in the United States, Bridgeport, Connecticut is composed of informal boundaries or neighborhoods which are known by their individual characteristics. The neighborhoods have developed by geographic boundaries as well as ethnic and other socio-economic influences. The neighborhoods of Bridgeport consist of the North End, East Side, East End, Black Rock, South End, West Side, West End, the Hollow (or old North End), and Downtown area.
